Save 20% on services* when you migrate
Windows Server 2003 reaches “end-of-life” in mid-2015. “End-of-life” means Microsoft will completely end support for Windows Server 2003 including patches and security updates.
Given the rate at which new security threats are introduced, it is dangerous to run production services on a platform that has reached end-of-life. It’s also a compliance nightmare as many clients in heavily-regulated industries will not pass audits if applications are running on unsupported operating systems.
With proper analysis and migration planning, we propose to help you to move mission-critical applications to a supported operating system. We can help you:
- Analyze your inventory of Windows Server 2003 systems
- Explain your options
- Identify the appropriate course of action for each workload.
Upgrade to Windows Server 2012
The simplest option is to perform a clean install of Windows Server 2012 R2 and restore a copy of the application that was running on Server 2003. While this option is simple, it is only possible if the contained applications are compatible with Windows Server 2012.
Migrate to Azure IAAS Cloud Platform
If the Server 2003 applications are suitable for cloud hosting with Microsoft Azure IaaS, one option would be to migrate the application directly to a virtual machine deployed in Microsoft’s cloud datacenters.
Virtualize the server as a VMWare or Hyper-V Guest
Now is an ideal time to virtualize as much as possible while making efficient use of your existing hardware, reducing idle time and lowering energy and management costs. Rather than rebuild a physical box as a regular host, why not build it as a hypervisor host and host multiple “guest” servers on it?
Simplify On-Premise Infrastructure and Move to Office 365
In some cases, businesses can move data sharing, email and collaboration directly to Office 365 and simplify their IT infrastructure and save money.
Consider a Hybrid mix of On-Premise or Cloud
Keep control over your strategic data by keeping it on site while benefiting from Cloud services for applications and less-confidential data.
